Resumen:
Trypanosoma cruzi (T. cruzi), the parasite responsible for Chagas disease, evades the host's immune system by coating its outer membrane with sialic acid (SA). T. cruzi cannot synthesize SA. It has a specific membranebound enzyme called trans-Sialidase (TS), that captures SA from the host and transfers it to Mucins, also membrane proteins, which store SA. This study aims at characterizing the nanoscale distribution of TS and Mucins by two-color STORM (Stochastic Optical Reconstruction Microscopy)
