Resumen:
The Patagonian Weasel (Lyncodon patagonicus) is a small and little known carnivore taht occurs in Argentina and Chile. Despite it has a wide distribution, many of its known records are fossil or historical. A recent study found that it is experiencing a shrinkage in its range, issue that could affect the conservation of this rare mustelid. This paper aims to provide a new location of occurrence for this species, whose novelty and importance is that an immense void is completed in the geographical distribution of this species. A specimen of Patagonian Weasel was observed in Lihue Calel National Park, in the province of La Pampa, during midday. The new record reported here is located 173 km SW of the nearest known locality and fills a big gap in the middle of its range. This record contributes to the protection of this species, due to its location within a national park.
