The present study focuses on the top-down regulation exerted by microzooplankton on phytoplankton during the spring bloom. Includes five experiments, conducted at different times during the spring bloom in the North Sea, and evaluates variations in microzooplankton feeding preferences by calculating its grazing pressure on phytoplankton and bacterial communities.
