Resumen:
The detection of breast tumors and cerebrovascular accidents are two of the biomedical applications of microwave imaging whose clinical trials are currently being developed. Nowadays, the application of this technique in bone health evaluation is discussed. Particularly, there are some cases of study in the calcaneus that are promising. In this work, based on these experiments and our owns, we developed a sensitivity analysis for a realistic ankle model in two dimensions obtained from tomography (CAT) images. The model consists of a circular arrangement of monopole antennas emitting at a fixed frequency. Through this, we evaluated how the dielectric properties and the thicknesses of the tissues involved do affect the measurement of the dispersion parameters of the antennas (S parameters). The simulations were performed with the technique of Finite Differences in Time Domain (FDTD).
