Resumen:
The genus Psoroma sensu lat. in southern South America is poorly known.Although there have been some new species reported, bibliographic revisions and specieschecklists published, no systematic revision has been undertaken. We now report ourinitial results of morphological, anatomical and chemical studies on two such species(Ps. pallidum, Ps. pulchrum). We have shown these two species to be synonymous.Furthermore, following the circumscription of Pannaria proposed by P.M. Jørgensen,we adopt here the name Pannaria pallida, previously proposed by Hue, as the validcombination.
