Resumen:
This paper focuses on the authority that the first-person manifests in relation to a particular class of mental states: namely, beliefs. We will argue that to adopt the authorship model does not conclude with a deflationary conception of self-knowledge. In particular, we will hold that a certain notion of practical knowledge is a plausible model of the knowledge of our own beliefs. This requires to make clear how this is a cognitive achievement that answers to an independent reality. A first step to this end will be to draw some parallels between a first-person perspective on our own mental states and a second-person perspective on others' mental states.
