Resumen:
The present paper presents a new methodology for assessing the effectiveness of the teachinglearning process in engineering careers. This has been designed by considering the cognitive and ecological approaches not commonly used in engineering careers nor in technical courses. Themethodology considers not only the results of the grades obtained by the students but also an evaluation tool consisting of a questionnaire form to be completed by students once the stage of evaluation of the course is done. The new tool was applied to two courses of Electrical Engineeringand gave remarkably favorable results, according to the indicators used. It is expected to continuewith the new approach in both courses in order to track different groups of students and to obtainmore data to ensure reliability of the results
