In the northern of Monte Desert, Prosopis flexuosa woodlands occupy valleys where the tree root system can access water table. Historically these forests have allowed the productive development of the agricultural oasis through the provision of wood and posts. Extreme weather, overgrazing and deforestation have decreased these woodlands superficially. The traditional practice of forest management is the extraction of poles (straight branches), between 0.70 - 1.2 m height from de ground. Our objectives were to determine the distribution, forest structure and wood annual increment of woodlands of Villa Union.
