The present work describes the main characteristics andhistorical evolution of the National Plan of CoastalManagement (PNGC) of Brazil as well as the particularitiesof its planning and execution in the coastal municipaldistricts of the State of Pará.In particular, it has been considering the relation of the StateCoastal Management (GERCO-PA) at the NE area of Paráwhere exuberant vegetation of mangroves, main object ofstudy of the Project MADAM (Mangrove: Dynamic andManagement), is developed. These ecosystems stands outfor its socioeconomic and environmental importancebecause they are very sensible to the global climaticchanges and its potential consequences (e.g. sea-level rise).This work intends to contribute to improve the results of theresults of the investigations of the project MADAM in thecare of mangrove?s growth of the coast NE of the State ofPará
