One of Argentina´s more important harbours is situated in Bahia BlancaBay, in the south of Buenos Aires province. The city of Bahía Blanca (300 000 inhabitants) discharges its crude sewage into the Bay and several industrial effluents also reach the sea in the vicinity without prior treatment. Oil tankers discharging at local ports supply the refineries of the region with crudes from the Patagonian fields. In this work, a comprehensive data set about the distribution of hydrocarbons along the main navigation channel of the Bahia Blanca Bay is presented.
