Resumen:
The aim of this study is to compare the developmental trend of the Indirect Reported Speech (irs) in children with Developmental Language Delay (dld) and children with Typical Development (td). We observed that although their irs developmental trends seem similar there are some differences in the way that both groups reach the mastery of irs. In dld groups irs deviants usages show significant incidence while in td groups it reports no incidence. The analysis of the frequency distribution of the type of deviant usages in each age show a different developmental pattern.The hyperbaton seems to be a dld typical linguistic form. Researches like this could contribute to the design of more sensitive assessment tools
