Resumen:
In this work, the results of thermal and catalytic pyrolysis of polypropylene from food trays are presented. The investigated catalysts were three natural zeolites whose origin is from different quarries in the provinceof San Juan, Argentina, which were called C1, C2 and C3. The study of the characterization of the solidsdetermined that the zeolites were of the Clinoptilolite type with a Si/Al ratio close to 5.4 (average). Thesolids have an SBET between 8 and 9.5 m 2 g -1 and the acidity measured by potentiometric titration indicatesweak acid sites and a similar acidity in two of the samples (C1 and C2) and a 20% lower acidity in the thirdof the zeolites. The X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) study revealed the presence of K, Mn, Fe and Ca. Thereaction was carried out in a two-stage reactor and the results indicate that catalytic pyrolysis favourscracking toward obtaining liquids. between C5-C12, of the naphthenic type, which is attributed to thedifferent acidity of the solids associated with the different concentrations of Ca
