Politics of regulation on natural resources and food commodities in Latin America: the meat export trade in Argentina

The paper summarizes the multiple projects, laws and resolutions designed to control and regulate the meat export trade in Argentina, a business mostly controlled by foreign companies. Considering this, the paper also seeks to explore how meat packers have responded to regulation and its strategies between competition and cooperation. To both these ends, this study relies on the analysis of official sources, technical reports, statistics, parliamentary debates, domestic and foreign trade press. In the future, more business records will be added to the analysis.
