Resumen:
The rats move their vibrissae rhythmically and coordinately in order to acquire tactile information of their environment. The vibrissa movement has been a matter of concern for several researchers over the last few years. The design and construction of a novel photoresistive sensor, to register the complete horizontal vibrissa trajectory is presented in this paper. This device consists basically of a LEDs array and a light dependent resistance (LDR) covered by a variable transparence mask. When the vibrissa is located among these elements, it generates a shadowy line over the photosensitive material, and thus, it changes the LDR  electrical resistance. These changes are transduced in voltage variation. The assays and measurements have shown that this sensor in suitable for this objective and is highly simple and inexpensive.
