Lagoons are valuable but vulnerable areas of the country because of different causes: one of those may be urbanization or indiscriminate use of the resource. Lagoon ?La Salada? provides quality sweet water in northern Patagonia and the ecosystems services provides various resources to population. We pretend determine management and mitigation strategies which are both technically and economically feasible as well as culturally acceptable. This work will be done in the frame of an international project: Sensing the Americas? Freshwater Ecosystem Risk (SAFER) from Climate Change?, Directed by Gerardo Perillo and co-directed by Silvia London. Financed by Inter-American Institute for Global Change Reasearch (IAI).
