Our approach includes (i) astrophysical studies focused on the characterization of the radiation environments by using observational data and considering potential atmospheric compositions; (ii) 1-D radiative transfer modeling of the planetary atmosphere; (iii) simulation of these UV environments in laboratory experiments to study the effects of radiation on life.
