Resumen:
The effect of internal and external noise sources on the onset of
Rayleigh-Bénard convection is studied for the case of time-periodic
forcing. Internal noise is modeled through the inclusion of an additive
white Gaussian noise field in the Swift-Hohenberg equation. External
noise is modeled as multiplicate Gaussian noise. A comparison with
available theoretical and experimental data is presented. We conclude
that noise in the control parameter of the Swift-Hohenberg equation is
not likely to explain the difference between the thermal noise
intensity and the one needed to make theory fit the experiments.
