Resumen:
One of the main grain refinement methods is through the increase of mechanical strength. In recent studies, ultrafine grains can be obtained by severe plastic deformation processes. The most commonly used methods are Accumulative Roll Bonding (ARB), Torsion Straining (TS), Equal- Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP) and Mechanical Miling (MM). This work is being studied other severe deformation method, NECAE (Non-Equal Channel Angular Extrusion)with plate processing pre-rolled zinc alloy and cut in directions of 45o and 90o with 14 mm wide, 45 mm long and 0.65 mm thick. The array is configured with external angle psi0 81o and inner angle of Phi=150o. Twenty one sheets were superposed on the channel matrix and deformed with a load of 5000 kg in a single pass by deforming. Selected four samples along the matrix channel which were characterized by optical microscopy (OM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and back-scattering electron diffraction (EBSD). The objective was to study the deformation texture, microstructural parameters such as grain size and crystallographic orientation.
