Stage for texture measurements above room temperature in a Philips X’Pert Pro MPD diffractometer

A mobile stage, to be attached to the goniometer, incorporates a heater to activate in situ a reverse martensitic transformation holding the sample at a selected temperature while it rotates to perform texture measurements of a high temperature phase. It is described in detail and, afterward, first resultsof performance are shown. This kind of stage is especially useful for texture determinations on ribbons and thin ttapes by means of x rays, since for such geometry, a texture analysis by other experimental methods, such as neutron diffraction, is not appropriate due to neutron penetration and low volumes involved.in situ a reverse martensitic transformation holding the sample at a selected temperature while it rotates to perform texture measurements of a high temperature phase.
