Resumen:
Our objective is to describe a calcaneus-navicular coalition from bony material of the Collection Prof. Dr. Rómulo Lambre (School of Medicine - UNLP). The congenital sinostosis of tarso are caused by a lack of segmentation and differentiation of mesénquima during embryonic development. These malformations are one of the most common causes of the painful rigid flat foot in the population, with an incidence of around 0,3-0,6%. The calcaneus-navicular sinostosis are the most frequent and appears in bilateral form in half of the cases. The bones analyzed in this work belong to a masculine individual with an age at death of 62 years. He displays a bony bar that completely joins the calcaneus with the escafoides in both tarsos. The absence of osteofits and the defined form of the fusion would be indicating that the bony bar is a developmental anomaly and not a degenerative anchylosis. The importance of this analysis is in the heuristic value of the material, beneficial for disciplines like the medicine and anthropology.
