Resumen:
The chapther presents a comprehensive overview of current hypothesis to explain pharmacoresistant epilepsy, from the traditional transporter and target hypotheses to the more recent intrinsic severity and neural network hypotheses. We review proposals regarding how to address each of the postulated mechanisms from the perspective of new drug development.
