To identify alternative teleconnections to ENSO phenomena impacts over South East of South America (SESA). I analyze the spatial and temporal covariability between extreme daily rainfall in SESA and the sea surface temperature (SST) of the oceans of the Southern Hemisphere. The SST regions identified in this project are only another step in the continuing process of establishing the causes of low-frequency variability in the southern hemisphere. I will use these SST regions as a first step for a dynamic analysis explaining the atmospheric circulation to progress in the predictability.
