Resumen:
To what extent does politics represent the interests and opinions of the social groups under its sway? What factors play a role in determining preferences for and levels of satisfaction with democratic politics? Argentina is an interesting case of analysis. Between 1930 and 1983, it alternated between civil and military governments. Its recent history is plagued with extreme experiences included the claim of "all go home" to politicians experienced in 2001. Based on an original survey, we analyse the three dimensions of malaise in representation: disaffection, disapproval, and distrust. We examine the relationship between this phenomenon and a set of social, cultural, and political factors that influence its structure; before, finally, looking at the relationship between malaise and the democratic regime.
