In this article we describe the analyses of some aboriginal and military photographs taken in the last quarter of XIX in northern Patagonia region and La Pampa province. The methodological pursued is to compare the information obtained with the archaeological record found in Don Isidoro 2 that chronologically corresponds to the same period. The analyses are focused on the form and spatial distribution of firesides and awnings as well as the artefacts associated with them. The results have been contrasted with the archaeological record and the information eventually obtained helps us solve archaeological problems, as to whether, if the cultural manifestation represented in the record was produced either by aboriginal or military assessment.
