The book collects some of the most important papers written by Keith W. Whitelam, now Professor emeritus of the Department of Biblical Studies, University of Sheffield (UK). The main themes of the book are: the historical deconstruction of the historiographical concept of ´ancient Israel´ in current Old Testament scholarship, and the ways of constructing of a critical history of ancient Palestine. Emanuel Pfoh provides an Introduction to the volume as well as a general edition and selection of papers by Whitelam.
