Resumen:
Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate is used to control algae in irrigation canals, with the advantage that treated water can be used for irrigating. Thus, small amounts of copper are supplied to an irrigation plot. The objective was to determine the adverse effect of on crop as well as concentration on plant tissue after two years of irrigating. A greenhouse trial was carried out using representative plants of the area of the Lower Colorado River Valley which were cultivated and watered with a solution of Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate at 1, 2.5, and 5 ppm. During the two years of the trial, cooper it was found that does not affect the plant growth nor tend to concentrate in their tissues.
