Resumen:
In this text, I address the graphic work of Argentine artists Antonio Berni, Fernando López Anaya, Luis Seoane, and Edgardo-Antonio Vigo to evidence the sustained dialectic between tradition and experimentation, and between the original and the revision of serial production. I analysis the pertinence of Hal Foster?s reading of ?a double movement of turns and returns, of genealogies and deferred actions? in relation to the local scene. I argue for the need to consider Argentine printmaking from the sixties an object of study that adds nuance to and broadens understanding of the artistic renovation of that period.
