Resumen:
Neodevelopmentalism is the keyword that describes Argentina?s newmode of development since 2003. Born from the ashes of neoliberalism,it has signified a wide range of policy changes that have effectively modifiedliving conditions in the country. However, this new mode of developmenthas been unable to transform the structural factors behindwidespread inequality and poverty and unable to promote radical progressivesocial change.Mariano Féliz?s main argument is that while showing significant changesin policies (macroeconomic, social, and labor) since 2003, neodevelopmentalismhas not broken with the neoliberal social, political, and economicstructure: transnationalization of the economy, natural resourcebasedgrowth, and extended precariousness of labor. The chapter shows why the political ideology of the groups in power hasblocked significant social change in the country, even if there are socialand political movements inclined to promote and favor such changes.
