Resumen:
Thispaper explains how the stagnation and crisis in Argentina (2009-2020) reshapedthe standard of living of the working class and how their effects are reflectedthrough inequality indexes.Manystudies have used quintile stratification for inequality analysis. Following thetraditions of Marxian/structural theoretical frameworks, we analyze inequalityby defining the different factions within the working class, estimating theSocio Occupational Condition (CSO) from Census Data. This strategy allows us buildingdifferent strata within the working classes from information on regularsurveys. We work with the data from the Permanent Survey of Households (EPH) ofArgentina. We use bootstrapping techniques to strengthen our estimations ofmean income, too, in order to improve our analysis of the difference betweenclasses and variance´s income estimator.Weanalyze the evolution of inequality with several generalized entropy indexes.These indexes allow us to describe the composition of inequality between thedifferent classes and within each class. We complement the analysis withmacroeconomic estimates of income distribution to include estimates for incomeappropriation from other social classes.Westudy how macroeconomic developments and policies during the recent crisis haveaffected inequality.@font-face{font-family:"Cambria Math";panose-1:2 4 5 3 5 4 6 3 2 4;mso-font-charset:0;mso-generic-font-family:roman;mso-font-pitch:variable;mso-font-signature:-536870145 1107305727 0 0 415 0;}p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal{mso-style-unhide:no;mso-style-qformat:yes;mso-style-parent:"";margin:0cm;line-height:115%;mso-pagination:widow-orphan;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;mso-fareast-font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN;}.MsoChpDefault{mso-style-type:export-only;mso-default-props:yes;font-size:11.0pt;mso-ansi-font-size:11.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;mso-ascii-font-family:Arial;mso-fareast-font-family:Arial;mso-hansi-font-family:Arial;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN;}.MsoPapDefault{mso-style-type:export-only;line-height:115%;}div.WordSection1{page:WordSection1;}
