Abstract Fueguina foreland thrust and fold belt and its associated foreland depocenter: Syn-sedimentary deformation during the Eocene– Miocene The Fueguina foreland thrust and fold belt and its associated foreland depocenter exhibit characteristic syntectonic deposits. Growth strata, associated with anticlinal forelimbs, exhibit progressive unconformity and sintectonic angular unconformity. The miocene deposits from the foredeep depozone, deposited next to the inactive foreland thrust and fold belt, display a sintectonic angular unconformity, and clastic dikes. Clastic dikes have been generated synsedimentary during the Early Miocene deposition, in two distinct strike–slip tectonic pulses. Thus, the foreland thrust and fold belt have possess deposits generated in the wedge top depozone from the foreland basin system. The Miocene deposits have been generated next to the orogenic front, during transpressive tectonic pulses associated to the Fagnano strike-slip fault.
