Resumen:
Four strains of the genus Candida, belonging to two different species (C. albicans and C. tropicalis), responsible for vaginal candidiasis, have been analyzed by a commercial electronic nose, Patagonia model©.Several chemometric methods have been used for the classification of these samples to their corresponding species. Inthis study various mathematical algorithms were implemented and compared for the classification of Candida. This methodology allowed performing a clear iscrimination between two species of Candida, which entails clear progress in making a clinical diagnosis.
