Resumen:
In the present work thestudy of the influence of traffic induced vibrations into structures ispresented. The development of a numerical tool based on the finite elementmethod allows modeling this problem in order to predict and measure the influenceand mitigation of the phenomenon of vibration and vibration noise. For thispurpose a global finite element model (that includes the modeling of a main building, land and surrounding buildings) is developed, in order to have results of theensemble considering its boundary conditions. One of the central points is to set the actions caused by traffic takinginto account the particularities that it originates, through impulses thatdefine the proper loading applied to the finite element program. A heritage building is consideredparticularly for the study and simulation ofthe above mentioned phenomenon based on results of accelerations measured in situ in the building and into the surrounding environment. The methodology proposed allows dealing with thethree-dimensional characteristics of the problem with a reasonablecomputational effort. By analyzing the dynamic responses of the building it ispossible to model different alternatives in order to propose the mostappropriate solutions to mitigate the effect of the generated vibrations.
