Uma situação geográfica: do método à metodologia

We propose to discuss the concept of geographical situation as a possible methodological tool to the analysis of territory. For this it is needed to revisit the regional geography´s legacy, and later to take in account some premises of situational analysis in social sciences. Finally, we try to understand a geographical situation as a historical construction, a result of a system of events. In it we will recognize technical objects, actions, modes of regulation, agents, scales, ideologies, discourses, images. Our proposition supposes an analysis of situations viewed as an existencial analysis. However, in this methodological construction, we must do a selection and hierarquization effort. Variables don´t play the same part and they don´t have equal value. That way, the situation arises toward a theory, being able to include the called real in a previous system of ideas.
