BOOK REVIEW: While I was getting ready to read New World Monkeys ? The Evolutionary Odyssey by Alfred L. Rosenberger, it was impossible not to think about the volumes by Hershkovitz (1977), Coimbra-Filho and collaborators (1981), Kinzey (1977), and Sussman (2003) on New World Monkeys (NWM) and to imagine what new to expect from a book on the same topic. The word ?Odyssey? in the title put me in the mood to read this volume and once I got started, I could not stop reading. The book was delightful, and the format and information presented in the 11 chapters should be easy reading for experts and non-experts in primatology. Moreover, the stories on the process ofscientific research, from preparing the equipment when going into the field, the field experiences, the collaborations with many colleagues and local collaborators, and the discussions of research findings, give one the sensation of being there and the feeling of participating in science and primatology. At the end of several chapters, I found myself asking new questions of the research and wondering about still unresolved questions and discussions on the evolutionary origin and taxonomy of NWM.
