Resumen:
I analyze four periods in the history of female suffrage in Argentina. The first one will be named Emergence of feminists and suffragists (late nineteenth century until 1912). The second one, consolidation of feminism and suffragist movement (1913-1932). Disputes over woman suffrage and the antifascist turn (1933-1945), will be the third period and, lastly, woman suffrage law passes and women vote at the national level for the first time (1946-1955).The central focus will be over periodization, information missed, Methodological and conceptual Discussions about suffrage, contradictions of suffrage movement with respect to the political system, the importance of international organisms and intersectionality and some ideas in order to re-think the categories often applied to the feminine vote in Argentina: populist, organicism and charismatic leadership.
