Resumen:
Rice is a C3 plant and has a lower photosynthetic capacityin comparison with other crops such as corn. Then, the increase of the photosynthetic potential is asignificant new criteria in rice breeding programs todevelop cultivars with higher yield potential. Photosyntheticmeasurement as gas exchange is complex and time-consuming. The objective of this work was to evaluatethe relation between net photosynthesis rate (Pn),stomatal conductance (Gs) and canopy temperature (T)estimated through infrared thermography. Two rice Cultivars,Nutriar and Camba were grown in 3 plot in 2017in INTECH (Chascomus, BA), measurements were madebetween tillering and grain maturity stage. Camba displayedsignificantly (P < 0.05) lower leaf temperature, higher Gs and Pn than Nutriar. It was also shown therelation between Gs, Pn and Temperature. These resultssuggest that infrared thermography may be a simplemethod to evaluate varietal differences in Gs and Pnthrough canopy temperature.
