Resumen:
Species of Eucalyptus are among the most widely planted forest trees in the world. In Argentina, Eucalyptus breeding is mainly carried out by INTA, with Eucalyptus dunnii as one of the main species targeted. This eucalypt is highly demanded by the cellulose pulp industry, especially in regions where other widely planted species are not adapted to climate conditions. In this work, a single-trait GWAS (Genome-Wide Association Study) was carried out in E. dunnii for 13 traits relevant to the species? breeding program.A population of E. dunnii (308 individuals from 72 open-pollinated families) was genotyped with: an optimized ddRADSeq (Double-digest restriction site-associated DNA sequencing) protocol (Aguirre et al., 2019) and the EUChip60K commercial SNP microarray. The SNP matrices were filtered for quality metrics and remaining missing data imputed. A total of 27,215 SNP were distributed along the 11 chromosomes, covering complementary genomic regions between both genotyping methodologies. A low extent of linkage disequilibrium was evidenced and genetic structure by DAPC showed two subpopulations consistent with the original provenances in their centre of origin wherefrom the population under study was derived. The GWAS was carried out under a mixed linear model, including kinship matrix, for growth and wood quality traits. Eighteen associated SNPs (p
