Resumen:
During normal growth, biochemical markers of bone turnover are higher than adults and parallel the pediatric growth curve being potential indices of skeletal growth. BetaCtelopeptide of collagen type I is a specific bone marker. According to the National Health and Nutrition Survey (2004–– respectively: 6b7, 1346±438 and 1480±99; 7b8, 1235±154 and 1335±517; 8b9, 1069±239 and 1211±284; 9b10, 1121± 162 and 1226±188; 10b11, 1546±40a and 2140±937b. Letters indicate pb0.05. Individual levels of CTX correlated with Ca/Cr ratio (r =0.38; pb0.05). Correlation increased when CTX was plotted against ranges of Ca/Cr ratio (b0.05, 0.05–0.07, 0.07– plotted against ranges of Ca/Cr ratio (b0.05, 0.05–0.07, 0.07– plotted against ranges of Ca/Cr ratio (b0.05, 0.05–0.07, 0.07– plotted against ranges of Ca/Cr ratio (b0.05, 0.05–0.07, 0.07– ratio (r =0.38; pb0.05).
