Resumen:
Polystyrene (PS) and PEG-PS solid supports are presently the most used solid supports for the SPS.  Although, a large number of peptides and small molecules can be prepared using those supports, there is an increase need for the development of new ones for a more universal use.  In this sense, amphiphilic matrix contained just PEG are very attractive.  Herein, the new 100% PEG based resin, ChemMatrixR, is introduced.  ChemMatrixR, which is made exclusively from primary ether bonds and therefore highly chemically stable, has a good loading and is a user friendly resin because of its free flowing form once dried.   It shows an excellent performance for the preparation of hydrophobic peptides, such as T-20, (Ala)10-Val, as well as of one-bead-one-peptide libraries. NMR, SEM, Confocal Fluorescence Microscopy and nanotechnologycal techniques as AFM will be used to characterize ChemMatrix resin, study active groups distribution, and surface morphology bead by bead.
