Prospección y exploración minera de rocas para su aplicación como áridos: una propuesta metodológica

The international codes for reporting of explorations results and mineral resources and reserves are mainly oriented to metalliferous deposits. Although the general approach is the same, the exploration of crushed stones exhibits particularities and requires adaptations of the stages and techniques to the magnitude of the projects. In this work, a methodological proposal to search aggregates for the building industry is presented. The prospective-exploratory process was divided into five stages. The main guidelines of each one are mentioned. This methodology was applied in the south-central portion of the Córdoba Province, Argentina, with low-cost and highly efficient results. A systematic analysis of the rocks was carried out aimed at evaluating their aptitude as new sources to supply aggregates for the construction industry. In this work, the experience in this region is briefly reported.
