Resumen:
Currently, there are on-line and off-line application techniques for transformer fault diagnosis. Of these two modalities, off-line tests have traditionally been applied with greater recurrence. These tests have different purposes and can be classified as basic or advanced. In recent years, on-line fault detection and diagnosis strategies, based on the monitoring of electrical variables, have emerged with great potential to prevent transformer failures. These new techniques are based, for example, on the ratio of the increments of the flux linkages, locus diagram analysis, on the monitoring of variables obtained from the Park transform, on the monitoring of the transformer's positive sequence admittance or in the ratio of negative sequence currents. Such techniques have been implemented under very different conditions. The aim of this work is to present a conceptual comparison of the different alternatives found in the literature. The comparison focuses exclusively on inter-turns short circuit faults, since it is a fault component of considered recurrence in transformer windings.
