Resumen:
In this work, a strategy for detection and isolation of current-sensors and open-switch faults in electric traction drives is proposed. An induction motor drive with only two current sensors is considered for the design of the proposed strategy. The current estimations from a simple open-loop observer are used to perform the fault detection and isolation. In addition, the same observer estimates the rotor flux angle required in a vector control strategy. Simulation results analyze the sensitivity to parametric and operating point variations. Moreover, the performance of the proposed approach is validated in the event of different types of faults, considering the dynamic behavior of an electric vehicle. Performed tests include gain and disconnection sensor faults and open-switch faults in the inverter.
