The endocannabinoid system is one of the main endogenous systems involved in pain modulation. Changes in the expression and / or activity of the different components of the endocannabinoid system, including ligands, enzymes and receptors, have been described in experimental models of persistent pain. Dr. María Florencia Coronel will address the latest findings showing how targeting the endocannabinoid system contributes to the prevention and treatment of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathic pain, a debilitating condition affecting millions of cancer patients worldwide.
