Here, I object that there is a Tonk-like problem which threatens those who work with truth-functional semantics and not those who prefer proof theory. I argue that the connective which purportedly generates such an issue has also got a proof-theoretical characterization, and that it is only problematic under two assumptions. First, that the concept of global validity is always a good measure of correctness for metainferences. And second, that new vocabulary should generate preservative extensions. I then provide reasons against these assumptions.
