We will try to provide some contributions regarding the following topics:  What do we understand by argumentation? The limitation of deductive logic in the analysis of scientific argumentation and Toulmin?s theory as a framework are analysed.  The argumentative debates among physics researchers. An example: light - matter interaction and the concept of negative refraction index .  The complementarity between the epistemological approach to argumentation and cognitive psychology.
