Resumen:
In this paper we present. at first, the status of silicon single crystal growth in our laboratory, in the framework of photovoltaics technologies development program in our country. Presently near forty single crystal have been grown in a semiautomatic Czochraski furnace using electronic grade polysilicon and off grade silicon, and through it we reach a good growing parameters control. Also, we construct a wire saw to cut the ingots after rectification. At the same time we have set characterization techniques up, which include to measure crystal orientation ( x ray or laser), resistivity ( four points), diffusion length ( EBIC) carbon and oxygen concentration ( IR spectrometer), dislocation density, among others. A wood photovoltaic material  is obtained  from this process in view of characteristics values obtained. At present we are in way to produce solar cells through  two different technologies for junction formation: by the standard diffusion technique and by ion implantation. The equipment for both process are being set up now.
