Resumen:
This paper covers studies carried out in the Middle Valley of the Río Negro1 with the purpose of exploring the dynamics of small, medium and large-scale horticulture and the social actors involved. Horticulture in this region provides production alternatives for different farmers in relation to agribusiness (tomato-processing plants), exports (onions) and trade of fresh vegetables in local fairs. In this activity, migration and labour trajectories combine, in which workers migrating from neighboring countries (Bolivians and Paraguayans) as well as domestic migrants from the North constitute part of the networks that support the production and territorialization processes, keeping relationships that contribute to the workers´ arrival and settlement, to land access and use, and to the organization of seasonal work. In this chapter, we will focus on Bolivian migrants who enter the labour market of vegetable production.
