Resumen:
The human placenta is exposed to abnormal changes in oxygenation during pathological pregnancies, such as preeclampsia. Such fluctuations in O2 tension could provide the basis for a hypoxia-reoxygenation (HR) -type lesion with possible alteration on proteins,like nitrated-proteins. In my doctoral project, we study the possible effects of nitrosative stress on the formation of nitrated AQP in placental explants, and its role in apoptotic events in the villous trophoblast and endothelial cells.
