Resumen:
Most taxonomic studies on Argentinean marine copepods were done in the years 1962-1982, mainly on a limited portion of the southern Patagonian littoral. Recently, a new input on the study of this group is based on samples from a previously unexplored area in the coast of the Buenos Aires province, the Bahía Blanca estuary (38º 53? S, 62º 07? W), where a preliminary identification of 19 morphospecies suggests that the Argentinean biodiversity of benthic copepods was highly underestimated. Herein a new species of genus Nannopus is described from the Bahía Blanca estuary. The armature formula of P1-P4 (P1: exopod 0.1.022, endopod 0.111; P2: exopod 0.1.123, endopod 0.111; P3: exopod 0.1.223, endopod 0.111; P4: exopod 0.1.223, endopod 020) distinguishes this species from N. ganghwaensis, N. palustris, N. perplexus, N. procerus and N. unisegmentatus. The new species differs from N. didelphis, N. hirsutus and N. scaldicola by the armature formula of A1, allobasis armature of A2, syncoxa armature of maxilliped and the spinular ornament and length of elements of P1, P3, P4 and P5. The furcal armature distinguishes Nannopus sp. nov. from N. flexibilis. This is the third new species of benthic harpacticoids described from the Bahía Blanca since 2014.
