Resumen:
Over the recent years, there has been a growing interest in biodegradable green composites as well as in fully recyclable self-reinforced composites. In this work, hybrid self-reinforced composites based on polylactic acid and sisal fibers were developed.Composites were prepared by film stacking followed by compression molding at two different consolidation temperatures. Tensileparameters values (Young's modulus, tensile strength and strain at break) were determined from stress‐strain curves obtained inuniaxial tensile tests. Thermal behavior was characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and composites consolidation qualitywas analyzed by optical (OM) and scanning electronic microscopy (SEM). The composite obtained at the highest temperature (160°C) presented better consolidation quality as well as thermal and tensile behavior respect to the matrix or the composite consolidatedat the lowest temperature (155 °C).
